A
coaxial feed dipole has excellent efficiency and a nice simple doughnut
shaped radiation pattern. The Dipole has better gain then the standard
whip style (stock), this is approximately 2.15 dbi. So it has fairly
wide Omni directional coverage. This Style is best suited for long range
and altitudes. For general flying or flying close to the ground or
behind objects it should be mounted vertically, for longer and higher
altitude and range a horizontally mounted position is best. For range
and general flying, it should be mounted horizontally.
